Jerry’s Current Status and Outlook

Updated 23-Sept-2007, by Jerry

The past 3-4 weeks have been difficult and challenging.  The Eden Labs stem cell treatments and protocol are intended to slow and/or stop the progression of ALS.  It is not a cure.  From the end of April to the end of August, the outcome was more than satisfying.  Unfortunately, beginning the end of August, the progression started again.  The result has been an increasing weakness in my left hand and leg accompanied by a decrease in my quality of speech.  I have had to transfer from a cane to a 3 wheeled walker, and now to a 4 wheeled walker.  I have experienced some falls, one resulting in a painful cracked rib.  This has hindered my ability to work out at the gym.

The good news is that I continue to maintain a positive mental attitude, and gratitude for the loving support of family and friends.  Most importantly, I am retuning to Eden Labs the end of this month for a stem cell booster.  It is my belief and hope that the treatments received there will have the beneficial results that I experienced the last time there.  Of course, I will keep you informed of my journey.  Thank you for your encouragement and support.
